Albukhary International University (AIU) has taken a significant step towards promoting sustainable development by establishing seven 3ZERO Clubs from the staff. The clubs were formed following a successful workshop that encouraged staff members under the age of 35 to participate.
The 3ZERO Clubs, registered with the 3ZERO Club headquarters in Dhaka, Bangladesh, aim to contribute to AIU's efforts in achieving zero poverty, zero unemployment, and zero net carbon emission. The university extends its gratitude to the staff members who participated in the workshop and to the Heads of Departments and Deans of Schools for their active support.

The conference served as a platform to bridge the gap between social business and SDGs. It brought together representatives from academia, industry, government, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and communities. Participants gained valuable insights and inspiration to integrate the 3ZERO concept with the broader framework of SDGs.
The event fostered collaboration, educated stakeholders, and explored practical approaches to achieving these ambitious goals. Key themes addressed throughout the conference included SDGs, 3ZERO, and Social Business.
Professor Charles Hopkins, a UNESCO Chair in Reorienting Education towards Sustainability, delivered a keynote address emphasizing the critical role of sustainable education in achieving a better future. In addition to thought-provoking presentations, the conference featured engaging field trips and workshops that provided a well-rounded learning experience.
ALOR SETAR, 11 June 2024 - Albukhary International University proudly launched "A Day Without Plastic" on June 5, 2024. The event was inaugurated by Emeritus Prof. Dato' Dr. Abd Aziz Tajuddin, Vice Chancellor and President of the university.
Mr. Mohd Firdaus bin Mohd Isa, Head of Communications and Corporate at E-Idaman Sdn Bhd has delivered an insightful talk on "Sustainability for Everyday Solution," offering practical advice on reducing plastic waste in daily life.
A highlight of the day was the Recycled Runway Competition, featuring creative fashion designs made from recycled materials by participants from Albukhary International School and Albukhary International University. The Riverstone Refillery Team took home the top prize with their innovative designs.
The event also included a "Trash for Cash" program, where participants could exchange collected waste for cash. Exhibition booths by the A Day Without Plastic Committee, AIU 3 Zero Club, and E-Idaman Group provided educational resources and interactive activities, all promoting sustainability.

The inaugural season of the Social Business Videocast comprises 7 episodes highlighting our esteemed 3ZERO Club members. Following two years of significant impact, both domestically and globally, AIU is poised to spotlight the accomplishments of our 3ZERO Club and enhance public understanding of social business concepts. The AIU 3ZERO Club leads the way by initiating 3ZERO actions and progressing towards Social Business, showcasing the advantage AIU students gain from the university's comprehensive social business education.
In this inaugural season of the videocast, we will feature the 3ZERO Club members: PaperReverse, Aroma Revive, E-Protech, Elite Gallery, Po-Stitch, Alive Shop, and Plastigo. Our hosts for this season are Aisha Bojang and Iqra's Asif. The recording and editing are skillfully handled in-house by our talented Bachelor of Media and Communications students under the guidance of Mr. Hisham Musa from BMC-SEHS. Leading the production as the key person/producer is Mrs. Balqis Darus from ACE-SEDI.

Albukhary International University (AIU) hosted a memorable event on December 17, 2023, where the university's 3ZERO Clubs had the opportunity to interact with the renowned Nobel Laureate, Prof. Muhammad Yunus. Following the epic Convocation, the day was filled with energy and inspiration as students shared their remarkable 3ZERO initiatives.
Despite the tight schedule, 14 out of 22 AIU 3ZERO Clubs presented their impressive projects, focusing on the themes of Zero Wealth Concentration for Ending Poverty, Zero Unemployment, and Zero Net Carbon Emissions. The atmosphere was electric as students showcased their impactful work.
To further celebrate the achievements of the 3ZERO Clubs, AIU launched the first volume of the "Catalyst Unleashed: Shaping Tomorrow" anthology. Written by Khadija Mohamed Bakar, the driving force behind the 3Z movement and recipient of the Sharifah Rokiah's Award, the book chronicles the inspiring stories and accomplishments of the clubs.
The event was made possible thanks to the presence of Prof. Muhammad Yunus, Lamiya Morshed, and Sharifah Sofia. Their involvement has significantly boosted the morale of the 3ZERO Clubs, motivating them to continue leading the global 3Z action with unwavering determination.
