The primary objective of THE NEED PROJECT is to provide rural schools in Kedah, particularly in Baling and Sik, with reading materials and to establish “AIU book corner” at the school. THE NEED PROJECT promotes the reuse and preservation of donated reading materials.
The library team also offers training and workshops on library science management for school librarians, which will assist schools in maintaining their books in good condition. Since its beginning in 2022, they have distributed around 1500 books donated by AIU and the public, 16 bookshelves donated by MPH Book Store, and have engaged with 14 schools around Baling, and Alor Setar.
